I remember walking in the canyon with you. You were 6 months pregnant with Sam and you looked around and started singing, "How Great Thou Art". That is my first memory of you and i love it.
ReplyDeleteI remember when you found out you were pregnant with Sam, Lili and Abigail. I also remember when each of them were born. I'll never forget any of those moments, but the one that I will always cherish is you letting me hold Sam while they took you from the delivery room to your recovery room. That's why Sam and Carlye are so close! I was pregnant with her, and she was the first to hold him!
ReplyDeleteMy first memory isn't about you but about Lilli. The still remember our visit to the zoo when both Bella and Lili were little. They were in the double stroller and Bella was rubbing Lilly's tummy until they both fell asleep. It was the cutest thing in the world.
ReplyDeleteI also remember the first time I met you and David and how upset I was that Carianne would bring some frioends to our family get together. I soon realized that you and David are family and you were suppose to be there!
When I think of you I always think of what a great Mother you are and how wonderful you are with everyone else’s children as well!
It is funny how all of our memories roll together into that first visit in Utah but since that was our first chance meeting you and David that is where it all began. I remember when you became my 'daughter'. We were walking across the street from the Ephraim Co-op and I knew I love you as much as I love any of my other daughters. That has never changed.

I have to admit that I have a hard time pinning down my first memory of you. I think I was still trying to figure out my place in the insanity of the Baily clan.
ReplyDeleteI can say that you've always made me feel welcome and loved. In some ways, at that point, I felt more closely tied to you than to others in the family (but that may be a can of worms I don't want to mess with).
The thing that keeps popping into my head is how alive and vibrant your eyes have always been. There seems to be so much joy in your body that it can't help but glow from your eyes.
I hope Carl and Carianne don't mind this, but whenever I think of those two, you and David are always hanging around my mental picture. I suppose I can echo what pretty much everyone else from the Baily clan has already said: you're as much family as those with the genetics that say they are.
