Pics of the Day: Our Blustery Day

Holy cow! It has been so windy the last several days. We decided to go to the lake on Friday. We let the kids stay home from school and slept late. That was soooo nice. We got to the lake and the wind startedblowing right away. At first Abigail just wanted to run all over the place. She did not want anything to do with me or David. She is so independant. Until we can serve her in some way...princess. The temperature went down about 10 degrees in about five minutes. At that point Abigail saw me in a very long and very warm blanket. She needed me then. She climbed into the blanket with me and lunged for the truck. Me and Abigail explored every inch of the inside of that truck. Fun. Actually. I have to say. I still had fun. I got to be with my husband. I saw my children laugh and run. I got to be with some pretty sweet people all day. It was fun but I am seriously greatful to God that we did not get blown away. Again, Holy Cow!

Pic of the Day:My Friend the Preacher

I am not impressed often. When you have been on the earth and had to just deal with life as long as I have you start to lose a little of the wonder that you had as a child. But I am always impressed when I hear Cari speak. She always has something good to say. It is always relevant to what is going on in my life and more often than not it is convicting. This pic was taken at the Princess Academy camping trip. It was such a fun weekend. We left exhausted but I have to tell you little lives were changed. Amazing little lives that are going to go on and become big lives. Who knows what these beautiful little girls, that Cari has taken under her capable wing , are going to become. I ,for one, am so glad that I know my friend. She is a life-changing person to be around and the fruit in her life is good. I am so very proud of who she is. She has been a wonderful friend. She is a great wife and a splendid mother. What a blessing to have her in my life!

Picture of the Day: My Carlye

Well, I just could not ignore this beautiful picture of this beautiful girl. I don't know what happened. All of the sudden the chubby little princess ,who used to crawl up on a crate and sing Jesus Loves Me, while stripping, ( I still blame that on Carl somehow I know he had something to do with that), grew tall and slender. She has a very soft heart that can be hurt so easily but that is something that makes her so sweet. She has freckles that I know angels gave to her as they kissed her little nose in the night. She reads non stop, just like her mom. When did she learn to read? My goodness, I feel like it was just seconds ago that I watched her come into this world. She and Samuel instantly loved one another. Every time she would cry he would kiss her to make it better. Then, she would just cry louder making him shudder. It was hilarious. He did not like it when Carlye was not happy. I have so much history with her. I have been to every birthday and have known her and suddenly she is this person that I am having to get to know all over again. So many changes in such a small bit of time. Where has the time gone? I have to say that I am so glad I know her and cannot wait to see the woman of God that she becomes. But ,for the time being, could you just slow this "growing up thing" down a little bit?

Pic of the Day:My Bestest Friends

We had such a great time last night. We had no children to give us their opinions and we all actually looked presentable. I don't think that any of us had a pony tail. That's the norm anyway. The guys tried to dress up too. That does not happen often. We went to the Rockbox and had a blast. We played silly games at an ice cream parlor. Way to go Cari, you beat me on the hand strength game! We all laughed. We all talked with no interruptions. We had fun. Thank you God for my bestest friends.
